there is something inherently New York about taxis.

I have been lucky enough to (try to) hail a cab in many a city,

New York, Athens, Stockholm, Barcelona, Paris, Brighton, London…

but there is something about a New York City taxi.

A bit of fight to find one, especially early in the am, late at night

A bit of adventure, the random ads and the music your driver plays.

The bits of the city you hardly ever see, the back alleys and the city piers.

The acceleration as you take on the West Side Highway, the FDR, 3rd Avenue.

Windows open, bracing cold, eyes wide open, soaking in my city.
